Russell Preston
CREATIVE SERVICES MANAGER
Russell Preston joined Randle Communications in November 2022 as a Creative Services Manager, aiding the rest of the firm’s creative team with his graphic and web design expertise. A large part of his role is supporting all Randle client accounts and internal marketing with creative solutions and visually stunning brand material. He spends a large amount of time ensuring Randle’s clients are staying within brand compliance and keeping identities consistent.
Russell's spent more than a decade creating compelling designs for everyone from large, established organizations to scrappy startups and mom & pop businesses. He specializes in accessible design, copywriting, and collaborating with others to bring brands to life across print and digital. Over the years with Randle, he’s led art direction for CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION of REALTORS® “Homeownership Matters” campaign, pioneered NAMI California’s website refresh, and has overseen hundreds of custom collateral developed for Golden State Water Company.
Before joining Randle, Russell played a large role managing Medi-Cal’s provider website for the Department of Health Care Services, including becoming an expert in newsletter development for thousands of providers across the state. During nights and weekends, he’s a distinguished freelance brand designer for Blue Wire, a start-up podcasting network. Since 2018, he’s helped the platform grow to more than 250 individual podcasts in 2026 by providing custom art branding, plus sales & marketing collateral.
In his spare time, he collects cool fonts, watches YouTube tutorials and loves to look for fresh inspiration in content/brand design.
Originally from Cupertino, Russell moved to Sacramento back in 2009 to attend California State University, Sacramento, where he earned a journalism degree. When he’s not working, he is known to enjoy a nice cup of coffee someplace in Midtown Sacramento, take pictures of his cats, bike around town or enjoy the outdoors with some friends. He’s also huge sports enthusiast who happens to be one of the few Golden State Warriors fans in the office.
I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.
