Scot Murdoch joined Randle Communications in 2014 after more than a decade working in media. In his role as a senior account executive, he provides media relations, social media, creative writing and public affairs support for several clients including Sutter Health | Aetna, the California Hospital Association and the Mattress Recycling Council.
Murdoch brings more than five years of writing and project management experience to his clients, having written and managed content for a variety of mediums, including earned media, newsletter and web content, speeches, scripts, social media platforms, collateral material and planning documents.
Before joining the Randle team, Murdoch worked in the KFBK newsroom as an editor, producer and reporter. These duties included producing on-air content, being resourceful in the field and managing a news team. Murdoch had extensive interaction with reporters, studio hosts and interview guests. His understanding of how the news business works provides valuable insight for Randle clients.
Murdoch also served as a social media consultant for Entravision Communications, developing strategies specific to each station’s audience and building social media interaction. He also contributed time as a communications and media consultant for the California Chapter of Defenders of Freedom, an all-volunteer, nonpolitical organization that helps soldiers, veterans and their families.
Murdoch graduated in 2004 from California State University, Sacramento, with a double major in communications and criminal justice. He was drawn to the communications field after taking an internship at a radio station.
In his free time, Murdoch enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, staying active, running with his dogs around his neighborhood and skiing down the slopes of Lake Tahoe.
