Scot Murdoch joined Randle Communications in 2014 after more than a decade working in media. In his role as a senior account executive, he provides support across accounts in the public relations, public affairs and ballot initiative practices, including and the Mattress Recycling Council, California Hospital Association and Adventist Health.
Murdoch brings more than five years of writing and project management experience to his clients, having composed and managed content for a variety of mediums, including earned media, newsletter and web content, speeches, scripts, social media platforms, collateral material and planning documents. He also serves as one of the main strategists at Randle Communications for paid and earned media campaigns.
Before joining the Randle team, Murdoch worked in the KFBK newsroom as an editor, producer and reporter. These duties included developing on-air content, being resourceful in the field and managing a news team. Murdoch had extensive interaction with reporters, studio hosts and interview guests. His understanding of how the news business works provides valuable insight for Randle clients, leading to earned media placements in publications such as the Los Angeles Times, San Diego Union Tribune and San Francisco Chronicle.
Through his experience at KFBK and Randle Communications, Murdoch also developed an extensive understanding of public affairs and the legislative process. His experience includes coalition building, targeted social media and earned media campaigns and supportive collateral development.
Murdoch graduated in 2004 from Sac State with a double major in communications and criminal justice. He was drawn to the communications field after taking an internship in radio.
In his free time, Murdoch enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, staying active, running with his dogs around his neighborhood and skiing down the slopes of Lake Tahoe.
