Betsey Hodges is a seasoned public relations and public affairs professional with nearly 25 years of experience in crafting and executing strategic communications campaigns for a diverse range of clients, including corporations, state government agencies, nonprofits, and elected officials. With a deep understanding of both the media landscape and political environment, Betsey excels in building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, managing crisis communications, and guiding clients through complex public-facing issues.
Known for her expertise in messaging development and strategic counsel, Betsey has successfully navigated some of the most challenging communications environments. Her ability to integrate digital communications, traditional media outreach, and grassroots advocacy has resulted in measurable success in raising brand visibility, shaping public opinion, and advancing key policy objectives.
Betsey joined Randle Communications as a senior counselor supporting the team on public relations projects, including Covered California. She began her career working for two international public affairs and public relations firms where she honed her strategic thinking and discovered her passion for storytelling. Later she served in the state legislature as a communications director and senior advisor for a State Senator. Betsey has also worked in a communications and external affairs role on a complex, high-profile environmental restoration project.
Betsey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Political Science from the University of California, Davis. In her personal time, she enjoys traveling, gardening, walking her dog, spending time with her husband, and keeping up with her two children.
