Rachael Serrao joined Randle Communications in January 2018 and currently serves as an account executive overseeing Randle’s utility practice day-to-day operation, including comprehensive communications for Golden State Water Company and Liberty Utilities. She leads strategy and message development for complex regulatory issues like water quality, wildfire mitigation and Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS), while also supporting Randle’s public affairs practice through stakeholder mapping, coalition development, social media and traditional earned media. Serrao also manages the firm’s digital marketing.
Prior to joining the Randle team, Serrao completed two internships including work with the Nevada Humane Society in Reno, and most recently with Randle Communications. As an intern for Randle, she contributed to the strategy and tactical execution of Golden State Water Company and Bear Valley Electric Service social media launches. In addition, Serrao assisted with Sacramento Soccer and Entertainment Holdings’ effort to bring MLS to Sacramento.
Serrao earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a concentration in public relations and a minor in American history from University of Nevada, Reno, in May 2017. She was an active voice for animal wellness, spending a majority of her time off campus assisting the Humane Society and local pit bull rescue with communications and event coordination.
Currently, Serrao serves as Treasurer for the Public Relations Society of America’s California Capital Chapter, a nonprofit trade association for public relations professionals.
In her free time, Serrao enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite place to visit is Disneyland. In fact, she makes semiannual trips with her childhood best friends and, by her estimation, has visited the park nearly 50 times.
