Mary Parra joined Randle Communications in May 2018 and brings extensive newsroom, print media and public relations experience to the team.
In her role as a senior account executive, Parra provides media relations, writing and project management support for several Randle clients including California Family Fitness, Golden 1 Credit Union, Golden State Water Company and John Muir Health.
Before joining the Randle team, Parra worked as a publicist for a national boutique public relations firm. She also spent several years as a freelance writer for a variety of clients. Her work has appeared in The Arizona Republic, Phoenix Business Journal, Vim & Vigor Magazine and more. Her clients have been featured on many regional and national television shows including NBC’s TODAY show and the Rachael Ray Show, as well as in print in Dr. Oz The Good Life, Parents and People magazines. When she lived in northern Arizona, Parra launched a lifestyle magazine called Flagstaff Family, to fit the needs of parents and families in the area. Parra started her career working as a television producer and received an Emmy Award for her work on the 5 p.m. news.
Parra moved to Sacramento from Phoenix in 2012 and served on the parent guild for St. Francis High School and Sacred Heart Parish School. She previously served on the board of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences, Rocky Mountain Chapter.
She graduated cum laude from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, one of the nation’s premier professional journalism programs.
In her free time, Parra enjoys spending time with her husband and their four children.
